Hear me out, I’m going to say something that is super unpopular in the branding design world: not everyone needs a full branding suite. 

In fact, not everyone even needs a logo. 

I know, I know, but it’s true. Especially when you're starting out. You can straight up start with your biz name and go.

But there comes a point where your brand is visible on multiple platforms and it helps to solidify your presence with an inviting, visually consistent look that speaks your vision. That’s the job of your brand identity. I take my role in this seriously, because I know it’s not only your work, it’s your passion.

Hi, I’m Melissa. My career started in museums, working in the curatorial department in art exhibition research. I taught university art history for nearly fifteen years. Along the way, I worked on my design education and opened shop. I would say I really, really, really know about art and design that means something more.

In my design, I tend to mix and modify typography, focus on the goal of strategy + beautiful, check the math and measurements at the end, and start with sketches on real paper in the beginning.
